For Thomas
FOR THOMAS BY LISA HAYDON
The space between
A heartbeat and a breath.
The deepest peace
We shall all know.
We carry the casket
Through the cobbled streets,
Singing her to the church,
To fall away in Wonder.
A celebration of Infinity
And of the honor to have
Been at her feet.
Dual recognition for the one
And the Unity.
The best of us all.
We’ll dance to many tunes
and feel many rhythms
Before the day is done.
Knowing the tender and sacred web we leave
As we plummet forward
In blessing,
This shall be enough.
We’ll wear the veil one day
And see both sides
Of Love’s Universes.
How lucky we shall be.
